it had been sitting indoors at a salvage yard for a couple of years

any precautionary measures i should take before installing it ?

im already changing the seals along with the input shaft seal

anything else ?

The only thing I would do is run some fluid through it. Fill it up drain it out. Just incase something made its way inside while sitting. If you are going to open it up replace all the case bearings and inspect the syncros.

i dont think were gonna open it up

unless i need to to replace the input shaft bearing :confused:

ive just installed a tranny yesterday that wwas sitting on plywood outside in the weather for a few years.. old seals, new fluid, ran awesome.

will i need to switch over my speedo sensor ?

its going into a 92 classic

yes switch speedo...Yes LSD..

I bought a lsd tranny with 250,000 miles for 125 and the thing was just rebuilt!!! I would do a flush on it though if the holes havent been covered up.

how would i know if mine on my 92 is mechanical or electric ?

whats used to flush a tranny ? dunno which holes id hafta plug

most sr20 tranny are lsd right? i think is 95-97 with it? cause i just pick up one from the junk yard do i need to do some work to it or just slap it on?

since its out, you should consder reinforcing the hollow factory areas on the tranny with jb weld. its where the passenger side shafts inserts on the tranny. cracked mine just on wheel hop.

^^ what he said, wheel hop will crack a tranny casing quick.
i would use 3m window weld in stead of jb weld.
fill it in around the spaces where the pass. side axle goes in

even though im not running a lot of HP ?

Hp doesnt really matter. That wheel hop can get pretty violent with any amount of power, especially depending on the shape of your motor mounts, suspension, tires, etc.
