Hey guys,

I just bought a set of JUN 264 x 10.5mm lash type cams. I'm now confused about whether the engine requires solid type cams or lash type.

I have a naturally aspirated SR20DE from a 1992 Pulsar, if that helps. (I think they're mechanically identical to your SE-Rs over there)

If I have bought the wrong type, does it matter? I've done a search and it appears that solid cams operate badly on lash type valves, but no comment on whether lash cams will work at all on solid type valves.

Am I confused yet, or what?

No, you bought the right kind. JUN calls hydraulic lifter cams "lash type" and mechanical lifter cams "solid type"; its not a great translation. You have hydraulic lifters btw.

Hey mate,

Thanks for your help. I'm glad I don't have to shop them back to Japan!

BTW, Did you know that an Economist is a person who will know tomorrow, why the things they predicted yesterday, didn't happen today? :D
