Those videos kick ass Luis. The one I really wnat to see, and I'm sure others do to, is Jay's old car. I can't remember the new owner's name, but we must see those videos.

Don't be greedy now Jay, we ALL want to see that car on the rollers. I was so disapointed I didn't get to see your car in DC.

Jay,

Did ya hear that car spun a bearing on the road course last Sunday? Chris from SR20Development was on hand with his rescue trailer and the car is in his shop I think.

The car did sound badass tearing down the straight though! I was catching a nap on the bleachers and could pick that car out the easiest
There's probably video of that too somewhere, ask the SoCal list..

I know alllll about it.

Now before the rumours start, boost had nothing to do with it. In fact Ron was running with the boost controller off that day which means about 8-9psi.

One of two things happened.

1. He starved the car for oil in the chicane because SR oilpans suck sweaty nuts.
2. Ron tried out Redline engine oil, Mike K and I both think that was the main cause.

3. Number one and two combined.

So just for the record sake, the car DID NOT spin a bearing because it was pushed to the limits with boost.

Thank you.

Why would the Redline engine oil cause a spun bearing? Just curious

In short: It can't hang.

In longer but still short: The properties of the oil are not suited to extreme pressure and/or temps. It was a break down at the molecule level, and most likely *just* enough so when the oil pick up went dry what little protection was there disappeared.

I *always* run Mobile One, and change it at 1500 miles in cars like that one. Mobile One IMHO has the properties to sustain a short "dry" period without breaking down.
