Its that time again! Speaker problems!

My OEM Clarion speakers finally tore in half in my 92 Classic and I went out to buy the cheapest crapiest speakers that supposedly just bolted right into the door.

I got some Jensen XS265s for 30 bucks, they said they work with 91-94 Sentras.

They are 6 and a half inch cones, 2 and a half inches deep.

I have been out there for hours trying to get the damn things on to no avail.

I think the speakers are too deep, it says that it fits though.

That and the screw holes don't line up, I was hoping not to have to drill my own holes.

Should I just take it to a speaker shop and have a dude put em in the hole, I already have the panels off.

The dealer has the same Clarion speakers for $40 bucks by my house. Have you asked the dealer for stock speaker prices. If you cant get any then I would just do it myself. See how much the speaker place asks for. Its probly going to be around $40 -$50.

Eh, you really don't need all of the screw holes, I'd say line up what you can and drill a few extras. You can buy those clip-nuts from the store (there should have come with the speakers actually) and use those where you drill the holes. I installed Infiniti component speakers in my car. Feel free to ask away if you have more questions.

I gave up, I went to the speaker shop and had them do it, took them one hour of cutting and mickey mousing to get them in.

only cost me 20 bucks though

Ahh no more farting noise in the front,

But now I just realized by back clarions are shot too.

F*CK!

Any suggestions as to what is cheap and decent for the backs?

What are the dimensions for the back as well.

Those same speakers should screw right in without a problem in the back. Give it a shot. It's a pretty easy install. I thought it was much easier than the fronts.

I think the pioneer 2 way 6.5" speakers work really well - they are 70 bucks at best buy, and are well worth it. not much bass, but excellent mids and great highs...i loved them...sold them for $100.

Acutaly I thought the backs were 6 1/2 S's, or 6 3/4 i think they call them now. They are a bit bigger I thought. And dont worry we all are problaly in the same situation, my right rear is totaly shot. I really need to replace them, but that takes money.
