I've heard of a few people that have done the SR20VE swap into the Sentra SE-R or the NX 2000. I've been thinking about but have had had trouble trying to find an engine from someone other than JUN. Also I was wondering if the engine passed emissions. Also how hard was it to swap in and do all the wiring and everything. Cost isn't too much of a factor for me cuz I've heard of alot of people saying that JUN charges too much for the motor. Does anyone other than JUN get the motor? Otherwise I guess I'll get it from JUN. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Dunno if you'll get any good answers here cuz swapping in a VE is SO rare. I've been on the mailing list for 5 months and have never heard of a list member doing this swap. People have asked on the list and with 800some people it seemed that the consensus was that it wasn't worth the money plus barely anyone has ever done it so you got no one to help. :)

Well I know of one sorta. Its the same NX2K site I end up at everytime I go looking at NX stuff. Decent site but I see it way too much. It wasnt a total swap they put the ve head on the engine. With the neo vvl crap. Dont remember exacts but is on the webring somewhere. Probaly not worth the time hate to say it. Maybe the entire engine from overseas that pulls 190hp or there abouts might be worth it but the Turbo gets more for less usualy, and well you can tune a regular DE to those numbers

mmmkay, the sr20ve head will fit on the sr20de block, but you have to make and modify some of the oil passages on it, I heard that jwt is building a nx2k with that head and a turbo on it. I would try a junkyard over in japan to see if they would be willing to ship it over for you, probably alot cheaper than buying it from jun. the only real diffrence is the vvt and that is controlled by a module that detects rpms vs oil pressure, so wiring should not be that big of a deal.

Sorry guys I usually only lurk around the NX Forum. I just stumbled onto this.

I have heard from the JUN rep I was dealing with that they no longer deal in unmodified motors. I think you can still get built ones though ($$$$$$$$$).

My plan from the beginning was an SR20VET. I just needed to line up the cash. There are a few things you can do with the VE if you are going NA and want more than 190hp but you need to be serious about it. This is not a low-buck option.
