I just got the new issue of SCC and they have a little write-up on the SR20VET. It supposedly coming out in a mini-suv type thing with 276hp! I dont care what it takes, Ive gotta have one.

Would you be able to just swap the head and the ecu and other needed bits on to a older sr20de ?

probably swappable. I think all you have to do is tap a new oil galley in the block. the vehicle is called the X-trail, and is about the size of a crv or some crap like that.

I don't think Nissan will bring the Xtrail to the US cuz it might interfere with Xterra sales. But then again Nissan does have a thing for cannibalizing its own market segments (Maxima & Altima). But it would be sweet if they did bring it over. Its also been rumored that the SR20VET may end up in something like a Primera and Almera GTR or something along those lines. Hopefully...

hey, 3 suv's from nissan may not hurt them, maybe us when the soccer-mom's hit us while putting on their make up. how many ford utes are there? i dont think id be able to remember them all.

if we get the engines in our cars, we might be able to get out of the soccer-mom's way a little quicker.

I doubt the VET will come, i highly doubt it. The us us afraid of forced induction. they think the word turbo is liek a swear word or something. Ever realize the few turbos present in the us, stock? Very few, and what is here, is severely de-tuned

This engine could be the answer to all the Se-R people who aren't ready (financially , and emotionally) to let go of their Sr20's for the new QR's. I'll bet it will be the hot ticket to swap into any earlier models.
