It looks better than a regular log, probably a decent manifold.

I was looking at their web sight. It looks like they ripped off some JBA designs and they even call their fake JUN header a JUN header...

They have fake garret turbos as well, thats amazing.

Mike

Call me crazy, but that does look like a Hotshot manifold. I am sorry, I know this is dead wrong but I laughed a little when I saw it. I said to myself......"Damn thats soo wrong"! I could just see John grabbing his forehead out of fustration. Meeting John once a year I kind of know what he would look like doing so.

I really hope I am wrong.

I guess you were right all along, Mike. It IS a jungle out there in the business world, especially when it comes to SS Autochrome. I thought the OBX header they made was about the only thing they really ripped off of another company's product. Now I see turbo manifolds and turbos. Ouch!
Sort of like how you can buy knock off cheerios at the grocery store, and it says right on the box/bag "If you like cheerios....". But somehow this is different, we'd better boycott their products. I'm gonna go drink my Sam's "Coke" knock off soda and feel good about my decision, and maybe if the weather gets nice I'll throw my Rota rims back on, oh wait, they're a knock off of another companies rim, I'd better sell them so I don't go to hell for stealing!
Well. after looking at it again, the wastegate flange is not the same as a HS. Hotshot flange is between the primaries facing up, this one is going straight out. That looks like a problem on cars with little space between the radiator and the manifiold.

Dammit, I was thinking that it looked like a Hotshot with the wastegate flange in a different place. I didnt want to say it because another stupid flame war thread would be pointless. I won't say anything for certain until someone fits one in Hotshots jig. Looking like one and copying are two different things so I'll reserve comment until I actualy see for my self.

Innocent until proven guilty.

To manufacture a cola drink is ok because its not the same formulation a coke, same thing with a cereal with a hole in it. If you copied cheerios formula or cokes formula, that would be different.

Your analogy is like saying you can't have two different headers for a SR20 because both are headers.

Mike
And back to your point, it's not an EXACT replica! Just like the cheerios or coke is not an EXACT replica. They took the design & IMPROVED on it! Maybe the generic went the other way but it's the same thing. They took an idea & went with it to make themselves money. Like someone else said, it's different material, different sized of secondaries, that doesn't make it an exact copy. I really did wanted to spend $500 on something that's gonna rust & crack, but I just couldn't talk myself into it for some crazy ass reason. Defend it all ya want & rip on SS all ya want. Christ, rip on me all ya want, but I'm not gonna spend my hard earned money on something that has serious problems just to support some company. I guess I better buy some firestone tires that blow out when I'm goin 70mph because of all the r&d they put into them too then.
All right! We've had enough of the disagreements... at least I've had enough, and I like abusing people.

Enough from both sides, period... it's obviously pointless, and all that will happen is the same stuff being rehashed.

If you want to know where someone stands on the issue, read the locked thread and the thread started by scifinova... and live with it.

"I'm right, you're wrong... you're right, I'm wrong" blah blah blah.

I can't believe it, considering how strongly I feel about this, but this is nuts. It's like watching little kids picking at their scabs, and wondering why they don't heal.

Y'all want this to heal, don't you?

It's sad, because I feel I've lost/damaged some "friendships" along the way. I don't like it, but I guess I'll have to live with it.

If you have to argue, come up with some new view points and information... just drop it.

Peace Out,
Mark

Oh no... please not this again....
Haha, I was just gonna ask about this. Good thing someone did tho.
amazingly, that is NOT a copy of a hotshot manifold. Maybe turbo placement or something, but not a copy. The HS manifold is more 'square' and the two middle tubes come straight out from the flange. I'd be surprised if you can bolt a wastegate on it wothout hitting the radiator tho.

Ether way, i heard that the OBX /ssautocrhome Turbo manifold is a piece of **** and cracks usually within 1000 miles so i would stay away from it ether way

My friend blew his OBX turbo, on his SI.
hmm, cuz i was looking at ssautocromes site for their turbos, was the turbo blown because of bad tuning/installation, or was it just a turbo failure?
I believe it was turbo failure, iono ill ask, Honda owners always change their stories.

I thought the way the turbo is canted and the way 1-4 curve make it look simular.
