Ok, I've been faced with an untimely head rebuild thanks to poor engine management (read - "no management") and burned valves. Searching yields tons of VE valves and cams, etc., but nothing useful for little old me.

Coming setup will be SR20DE, 86.5mm, 11:1, and S4s.

I currently have:
  • JWT valve springs
  • Ti Spring Retainers
  • OEM Valve locks (brand new)
  • OEM Rocker arms (brand new)
  • 53J Highport head (65000 miles)

I'm looking for stainless valves, in standard size. Is there anything else I should look for?

I know BC makes intake and exhaust valves that MSRP @ $280/set and I'm sure that Ferrea makes them, although I'm not sure where to get them.

Are there any other options? Is there something else I should be looking for in valves? Any materials, designs, or processes that makes a certain valve type superior or inferior? Is $280/set of 16 good?

Thanks for the help.

I talked to Kojima and Miko about this recently

Kojima suggested stock valves because they are nitrated. I thinks that's what it was anyway lol. He said they are better than stainless. Miko suggested DET sodium filled valves, because they resist the heat more.

Turns out the extra head I'm using is off a 10:1 UK motor, and already had the sodium exhaust valves.
