I recently blew up one of my shocks in my coilover setup (Err... Ksports..), and after reading some stuff on the swift springs website, It sure seems like I could benefit from new/better springs, and maybe even assist springs. The real question is would it be worth it? Those swift springs are pretty hot... the Ksport's are not... but if the springs would help lighten the load on the shocks then maybe they wouldn't blow up? I am no suspension theory master, or  Mike Kojima... So yeah, any opinion are welcome.

I dont really think its as much as the springs as more of the daily commute (potholes, irregularities in the road, contrsution, debris, etc.) that blows up dampers (or shocks/strust, whatever). Also, having unmatched damping plays another major role in how long these things will last before they "blow up."

Springs are pretty much there to control body motion throughout the travel range.

If its worth it, hmmmm, not too sure. Personally dont think so. But, yes, it moght help.

P.S For the suspension gurus, if I have made a mistake in any of this, please chime in. Learning all about this myself.

Assuming the springs on my Ksport's are progressive. Would switching to a linear spring with a comparable spring rate be benefical?

They are both linear springs. You will hardly notice the difference on a damper as poor as the D2.

You do realize those springs will cost you at least 1/2 of what you paid for your whole coilover system right?

I doubt it would help your D2's from blowing any quicker.
