What is the largest tire that you can run on a B13 with the following wheels (figured I'd put these three in to cover what everyone might have) :

15x7
15x6.5
15x6

Post up your wheel width and what size tire you're running. Thanks.

What's your intention? You usually don't want to run a tire with a larger overall diameter than stock. Given that, you should stick with a 195/50 or 205/50 (think Azenis :)).

??? Has this been discussed recently? The only tire thread I've seen in recent history has been about 16in wheels/tires.

Well, I was thinking about trading a set of my 16's to my brother in law for a set of 15's that he's gonna be picking up soon. I wasn't sure if Azenis were made in 205/50 - I always see them listed in 205/55/15. So, that pretty much answered my question.
I just was curious as to what everyone else was running.

Azenis are available in very limited sizes. The only 14's and 15's they make are 195/60/14 & 205/50/15. Both of those sizes are actuall 10mm larger than optimal, but they're awesome tires. They don't make a 205/55/15, but if they did, that tire would be way too tall for a car that originally had 185/60/14.

If you're not familiar with the "Plus 1, Plus2, etc concept", it goes like this. Plus 1 is +10mm tire width, +1" wheel diameter, and -10% aspect ratio (the ratio of sidewall height to tire width). So for a 185/60/14, you go to 195/50/15, then 205/40/16, etc. That maintains the overall rolling diameter.

Now for some real world... different brand/model tires of the same size can actually be different. For instance, 205/50/15 Azenis are bigger than most other 205/50/15's.

Yep 205/50/15 is whta everyone says for 15's.

I Desperately want to run 15X8's with 225/50/15's or with 205/50/15 Azeni's stretched VW deepdish style but I have no idea if they will fit Azeni's are good for 5.5-7.5 according to their info. Plus the 225's are just over an inch taller than stock.

So good luck.

Why limit your search to recent history? Tire sizing is ageless, no reason to ignore old posts. They still apply.

I have the Falken ZE-512 tires in a 195-50-15 size, not the best tires but they were cheap. Good wet/dry grip and treadwear life, i like them...

Thanks for the info chriscar, I appreciate the help. I am familiar with the plus 1, exc... concept. I, however, wasn't aware that they made the azenis in 205/50 dimensions, that's good news, thank you. Since I didn't know that they made Azenis in 205/50, that's why I was asking what tires everyone else was using.

Don't worry anybody, I'll make sure that I do extensive searching before posting another question.

Charlie, I'm running Azenis on my B14 wheels at 205/50/15. That's the only 15-inch size you can get in the Azenis tire. If you don't want to go that wide the only other size worth running on an average wheel (like the ones you listed up top) is 195/50/15, and the Kumho 712 is probably a good candidate there.

I don't know how you missed that dude. Those are probably THE most popular 15" sport compact tire on the market now. Get a set, believe me, you'll love them.

^^^ I don't know either. For some reason I kept on thinking that it was 205/55/15's - not sure why, lol. I have now been educated. :D
Also, I should have put that together since I've seen Kent's tires several times. Oh well, I guess I went crazy for a day.
I'll definately get Azenis tires, now all I gotta do is close the deal on those 15's. :)
