brian....
***i've also ran the toyo 215/45/15 on my 92 se-r. this is really a great tire ....expensive though....lots of traction, not to noisy, great rain traction, and great predictability in the rain (rain in the northwest, what's that??). i can't remember my offset of the wheel, but i did not need to roll fenders, there was no rubbing at all front or back.
***i've also test fitted a 225/50/15 on my 92....it's a no go, plus the way it looks, nevermind, don't ask, it's that bad. whenever you crank the wheel, the tire would rub on the inner fender, and that was when it was parked, imagine at speed....scary!
***another option to check out, is that dunlop makes a 215/50/15, it's a sp sport 9000, probably about 170.00 a tire, ouch! if you're interested you should call bob brown tire. the only one i know of is on 122nd and sandy blvd. in portland. i'm 99% sure they still carry dunlop tires.
***or if you're REALLY bored, i can put my studded wheels on my car, and we can put my 225/40/16 on your car, then you can see first hand if they rub or not, if they don't, then you can test drive them. of course this means you have to give me a ride as well...LOL!! ...hey it's your own fault, you drive a 12 second car!
....anyways let me know if you're interested, it would be a good test to try out for the b13 crowd.
later,
bryan...can only do a 14.1 :-(
