I would go with the GT2871R. It's the best streetable turbo you can get with a very nice power output, period.

I was originally looking at getting the HKS GT3037, but I settled for the GT2871R because of the fact I mentioned above. I am hoping to hit 400 whp @ 18psi -ish with the turbo and HKS Step 1 cams on my black-top SR20DET (S13). I do think more 400 whp can be had if I go with an O2 induction manifold, and extrude hone the turbo and turbo manifold.

From those dyno graphs, it seems the GT2871R hits full boost around 3400 RPM. Is that the experience of others who have the same turbo?

How much sooner would the GT28RS hit full boost over the GT2871R ?

Trust me man.. its not nice not able to wot 100% ...the gt3071r its easy to modulate better responce than a gti-r t28 and a lot more power...I have drive a lot of gt28rs and hks rsgt turbos (mostly on agu motors ) and I can tell you you are goingo to spin the tyres badly on 1 and 2gear the 3071 its what you want ..in a fwd car.. I did allmost 280 whp at 10 lbs on a stock motoryou can see the dyno above...
cheers.
