turbo ecu questions

i have a few questions about jwt ecu's... like i have stated in a couple other threads i am going with a fmax stage 2 type turbo kit... when looking at the kit it says requirs stand alone... does this mean it just needs jwt ecu? and basicle you send it in to him and he sends it back in 4 to 5 weeks... well i guess when i upgrade my cams or something i must send it in again, for more reprograming?? sorry guys i am not to knowledgable on how people do the jwt reprograming process, or afford it?

JWT will program whatever mods you let them know you have onto the ECU. You will need to let them know what compression motor you are running (most likely will not change since it seems you are bolting a turbo kit to the stock motor), injector size, Maf type (bored stock, Cobra, Z32) and if you have cams. I know they prog for their pop charger application too, but I don't know if it makes a difference with a turbo application.

If you get your turbo setup prog-ed into the ECU and decide to upgrade a part later, adding cams for example; they charge a 100 dollar fee instead of the initial 500-700 dollar charge.

Good luck.
Stand-alone would be something like AEM's EMS, not the JWT ECU.
Although JWT is not a stand alone, I really see no reason to use a stand alone with the Fmax kit.

It's not a program designed to work with a POP charger, it's called the POP program. POP means Performance Optimized Program. Basically it's an upgraded program for a mostly stock motor.
ok soo basicly add 100 to every mod you add to your car and some down time?

well as for the kit bolting on to my engine. jgy customs is givving me a hell of a deal! i told them i want around 300whp to 350whp. they said they could suply m with a new jdm longblock with lines drilled, sence myn is agged with 180k.. And a turbo kit with one of thier turbos that supports 400hp peak, internally wastgated... by the way what turbo do you guys think there talkin about? and they said the kit with engine and ecu would cost around 3500, sounds like a perfect deal to me...

if anyyyone can find me 300whp. dropp in for 4000 and under, please inform me!!! i am just looking to have a full turbo car with 300whp where the only extra stuff i will need is clutch flywheel rims and tires

oh and i need intercooler.. im not sure if jgy was adding that in the kit!
ohh and i suspose gauges! im sure they dont add those in

DOH! Thanks for clarifying that FastNX. :) I always wondered why they programmed for a WAI; turns out they weren't. Sorry for potentially spreading misinformation.
if you get the trbo programmed for what you have when you get your turbo kit then you pay the one price... you wont have to pay more if you get cams, there isnt a turbo/cam program.... that has been discussed here before. If your turbo you'll have to reprogram if you change injectors or maf or if you change the compression... as for the kit JGY is great, with them youll do it right and complete the first time... so i say throw some cams in there too while your at it... id get some HKS a 264 intake and 272 exhaust...
i know i want cams bad !!!

why are the hks's sooo cheap ! i didnt know they cost that much.. or should i say why are the jwt so expensive!

I have a JWT ECU programmed for Turbo, all the other goodies, and JWT S3 cams. I plan to put my kit on in April and I won't have cams for it by that time. I would just get your ECU programmed for everything you need and also cams so you won't have to send it back, it should still run perfectly fine (from what I have heard). I have not experienced this yet so I'm not positive. Maybe someone who has could chime on this. I say program it for cams!!!
like i said before there is no prgram for turbo and cams... do a search on it its here and was discussed to death a month or two back... hks cams are great i got one in my car and it pulls like crazy, when i had both, NA it was great, im looking to get a 272 exhaust cam sometime soon
jgy might program the comp for me or i will just talk to jim wolf about it..
