Yes, and that's only one of the two that got messed up.

Exhaust camshaft = owned. :(
What happend ? miss shift ?
I broke all of them and scratched the exhaust cam, near the #1 cylinder.

You know it. Meant for 4th, went into 2nd. Engine saw very high RPM's but for only a millisecond before it was caught, which is why the car ran perfectly fine the entire way home I think. The car still idles and starts up perfectly fine, just has a very nasty knock.

do you drive a b15? i noticed on my dads how close 1st, 3rd and 5th and 2nd and 4th were. took me a while to not grind in the open spaces. sorry to see the mess. good luck with it.

No, it's a friends car.

BTW, that scar on the camshaft is NOTHING compared to the one we found on the other side. It's twice as long, and even deeper. Like I said, the exhaust cam is definitely toast. Ohh well, S3's are going to be ordered for the car now.

How were your valves? I'm just going to assume the worse that at least 2 valves are going to be bent. One rocker arm is loose, and one isn't loose but the rollers in both (I think those are the rollers) lost half of themselves. We also found a bunch of little pins inside the engine. They're longer than timing chain pins, so I'm absolutely lost as to what they could be. Could they just be chunks of a valve or something? I'll have a picture here sooner or later.
Lets just say #4 cylinder had no compression and the other had very little.

Yikes. Well, I can fortunately say that the car has plenty of compression right now. I think this SR20 is a little stronger than most have been. :)
man that is a sad sight to look at.. i hate seeing damage to good motors...
Dang Ryan, I'm sorry to see that man. Nissan shifters/trannies do not like you very much... :(

Good luck to Jeff and the rebuilding of everything.

My thoughts exactly. I'm done with SR20DE's, now. Let that be known. After we get this car on the road, it'll be the last SR20 I ever touch.

OK? Didn't you just launch a forum-wide advertising campaign to find another one to buy?

Yeah, but you try destoying your friends engine and not being heisitant about buying another sr20 car. I mean crap he has owned like 5 of them now. Ryan, buy a rwd car, you will like it better...

Do you see it in my sig anymore, genius? No, I didn't think so. I was a drive away from purchasing an SE-R, but I decided not to. Trust me when I say I'm done with these cars. The only SE-R I'll ever get will be a new Spec V, and I don't even want one of those. I'm switching camps to Honda, now.

I've owned 5 of them. I've destroyed a transmission and an engine, and had to live with the constant headache these cars have brought me. I loved my B14 to death, but had to sell it for personal reasons. It's just time to move on. I've had my fun, but I'm just sick of the cars. The 2 weeks of love I have with one isn't nearly worth the 5 months of hate that happens afterwards. I'm done.

wow...that's harsh. I've been the opposite. Everytime I break something I can't wait to fix it. Sorry about your luck and I'm sure you'll always be welcome back.

Maybe in the future I will be back to driving an SE-R of some sort. Maybe. You never know with me. ;)

The problem is I am a very busy guy that has to drive 90 miles a day right now. When something breaks, no matter what it is, it's quite major and I don't really have the time, nor the money, to fix it right away. Unfortunately, item after item went out on my B13's. It just got really annoying having to spend two weeks without a car because it was sitting in the garage on jackstands because when I went to fix one thing, I ended up having to fix 3 others while I was at it. It's just annoying, and I don't really have any patience to deal with it right now.
