Upgrading turbo..do I need a new boost controller???

I have a TurboXS manual boost controller. I heard awhile back that once I upgrade to an external wastegate (future upgrade: protech mani, t3/t4 turbo, tial 38mm) I will need a new boost controller like an EBC. Is this true?

Not really man, the manual boost controller works in the same way as electric, just the electric can help with things like over boosting and spike much better than the manual style boost controller. I have a profecB and love it. works great with my tial WG and T3 setup.
