i have seen alot of water cooled turbos with no water lines.how bad is it for the turbo and what is the point of not running the line if it is a water cooled turbo?i did a search and did not find a real anwser.thanks

well, the new GT ball bearing turbos HAVE to be water cooled, but other than that, water cooling basically keeps the turbo at a civil temp during normal driving sometimes preventing the need for a turbo timer.

water cooling also helps the bearings of the turbo last longer and keep oil temps lower; which in turn helps the oil last longer. There's a reason every single factory turbo car is water cooled, for reliability.
