I love Yokohamas- I used to use A509s (185/60/14) but since they stopped making them I've switched to AVS Intermediates. You can get them from Tire Rack pretty cheap and I've had great results.

I've been considering these tires:

http://falken.innovapp.com/html/products/azenis/azenis.htm

They go for $39 for 14" tires to $116 for 17". I like the tread pattern could be good dual Autocross/Street Tires. Treadwear is 200. I heard some good things about them.

I use Toyo T1 Pluses, not available anymore, but they've been replaced by an even better tire - the T1-S.

The T1-S has all the dry weather grip of my tires, plus excellent wet weather grip.

Awesome tires (for half the year).

Definately not something you'd want on the car if they're snow though.

I DO NOT recomend the Falken, the hotter they get the more they slide = not good for AutoX. Toyo FZ are cheaper than T1, but not as good as the 730's (don't get talked into 930's) and Yok's are the best of this bunch. Tryed them all between my b13, and my friends' miata and 318 beamer.

I got Nitto 505's. They suck in the rain. They suck in the snow. But when it's dry I remember why I bought them. Then I grin a big stupid grin as I whip around, and through everything I can get away with.

The treadwear is 180, so they are not fot the long run either. I go usually mess up tires pretty bad tho, I've never had a set make it to the end of their life.

So I said F' it I'll really tear thru these. I've had them for 1.5 years and still in good shape, but they are on their way out in a hurry.

I hear that if you wet them down between runs they work great! I'd just use them for practice days, I got a great deal on some BFG R1's which I use for championships.

This might help you out a bit....
I have autocrossed on the Toyo proxes T1-S, nitto Nt555's, and the new Kumhos (both ecsta 712 and the victoracers, and Yokohama A520s. (I got thru tires fast and have 2 cars)

The Kumhos (ecsta)are great for the money but squealed alot. (205/50/15)

The Nittos and the Yokos got greasy after they get warmed up on a hot day but atleast the A520s have that killer turn in feel but they get noisy when they get worn.(205/45/16)

The Toyos are great for street and autoX .. but they need a good bit of neg camb (steep slip angle) but they ride nice.(205/45/16)

the victoracers are great DOT racetires for the money they stick. (205/50/15)

Wow! Thanks for the response, guys! I neglected to mention that these will be summer-only tires, and I do not Auto-X, only smoke civics. I've heard those Kumho 712's are discontinued! 1 place in town here wants $183/ea (Can.) That does'nt seem so cheap... Thanks again.

I am running P700-Z Perelli's now but will be changing to Falken Azenis if I stay in STS autocross. The new Azenis tires can't be dismissed because of past Falken tires. The Azenis was designed to be sticky. If I buy cams I will buy a set of Yok A032R's since I will be moved to a modified class.

Hm. I got mine from http://tirerack.com

Check it out. The 17s I got (205/40/17) cost $80/each and the 16s you're looking for (205/50/16) are $74/each. Although I see you're from Canada and would have no idea how much difference in price that would be.

Hope that helps.

Peace.

I am using the RE730s on my 00 Sentra and they are night and day compared to the crappy Firestones that came on it. Plus, they have a high treadwear rating (300 I think). I highly recommend them. later

Im on my second summer using the Kumhos Ecsta 712..Excellent tires for the dry and rain (IMHO)..very predictable on very hard turns..(gotta love that rear sway bar!!) not to mention a built in rim guard too!!...and you cant beat that price...compared to the stock tires..
