HEY YA'LL. I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS I AM GOING TO THROW OUT THERE. FIRST HAS ANYBODY HAD THEIR REAR MAIN SEAL LEAK? MY CAR HAS 94K ON IT AND AT MY LAST OIL CHANGE I NOTICED THAT IT WAS LEAKING. ANYBODY KNOW ABOUT HOW LONG IT TAKES TO REMOVE THE MANUAL TRANS IN OUR CARS? ALSO IS THERE A SPECIAL INSTALLATION TOOL FOR THE SEAL? THE REASON I ASK IS BECAUSE I AM A VOLVO TECH AND TO INSTALL THEIR REAR MAINS YOU HAVE TO HAVE A SPECIAL INSTALL TOOL. SINCE I HAVE ACCESS TO A LIFT AND ALL THE TOOLS I NEED I DON'T THINK IT WILL BE THAT HARD TO DO. QUESTION #2 I AM DEBATING ON WEATHER TO GET A HEADER OR CAMS NEXT, AND IF I GET THE JWT CAMS HOW MUCH DO THEY RUN, AND DO I GET THE S3'S OR S4'S? I ALSO NEED TO KNOW IF AN UPGRADED ECU IS ABSOLOUTELY NECESSARY TO RUN THESE CAMS. LOOK FORWARD TO GETTING SOME REPLIES. LATER.

Okay for starters, release your caps lock, please! Typing in caps is the same as yelling.
Now as for your questions:

I'm not sure if there is a speacial tool to removethe rear main seal. You should purchase a FSM and see if it is required. And since you have a lift,I figure you should be abvle to pull the trans in a couple of hours.

I would do headers before installing cams. Although you could do the reverse. Hotshot headers are the favorites of most SE-R/NX pilots with AEBS running a close second. I,being the lone individual,am running Stillen.

Cams:The S4's make more HP than the S3's. How much more I'm not sure. But with the S3's figure about a 10HP gain. And ALLSR20's gain from cam upgrades. Expect to pay about $500.00 or so for the S3 cams. I myself am running S3's. Good pull. Only a little lope on idle. No streetability issues. Someone else will have to speak on the S4's,as I don't know too much about them.

As for needing an ECU for those cams,no. But if you do,you can gain something like an additional 3-5HP from the S3's. Also, the ECU will remove the speed limiter, raise the rev limiter, and quicken the timing curve.

Hope that helps.
