What's all this about "chipping" Audi's and VW for like 33% more HP? I'm guessing it has something to do with the ECU? Why doesn't the SR20 have something like this?
the reason for all the h.p. gain, is because it's for the 1.8 turbo. They kick up the factory boost alot higher...presto h.p. Since we don't have factory turbos, then we get only 4-7 h.p. for our computer upgrade. There's probably more, but that's about all I know about it
VW 1.8t's dyno even higher, showing very little driveline losses. They under-rate them because they are afraid of it cutting too close to the VR6 range. And thats the engine they traditionally wanted to push more in this country. The 1.8t is in like the entire lineup now though.
VW reliability below average? On the contrary, the new Audi's and VW's are among the best built cars on the road. Don't judge them by their reputation from 1985.
yeah it looks good and all.. but general consensus from vwvortex says otherwise. almost everyone has creaknig seats, rattling sunroofs, weird noies from the dash, and squeaking noises when they turn. add that to the weak stock DV (blow off) valve, etc....
