Glad to see Ben got the new URL working. Nice job.

Jay, Since I know you will probably be checking this thread I'll ask you here
. What do you think of a cam that has a relatively long duration (272) and relatively low lift (10.5) in a bolt on car? Is this more of a high end hp cam or midrange?

ROFL...I figured it was you! Waaasaaap!

See YOU on the 8th. You still in?

Soupadoupa:

With your set up I would go with the JUN 264's with 10.5mm lift.

The AEBS header is not really designed for 8000rpm use.

I'm telling you Ryan's 97 with the same basic set up you have and the low lift 264's (10.5) PULLS like mad.

I think it is faster than my old NA car that went 14.1 Really.

Jay, thanks for the reply. I did a little cam research and the 272's are going to create a rough idle and low vacuum. I am going to try the same specs as Ryan (264/10.5) but with Toda Cams. Once I have them in and broke in I will dyno and we can compare them to the Juns.
That really surprises me about the AEBS Header. Care to enlighten me? One of the reasons I bought it was I thought it would be a high rpm performer.

Well there is MUCH MUCH more to a cam spec than duration and lift. I am honestly not a fan of Toda's stuff but that's just based on the numbers I have see them produce. Nothing scientific.

The JUN 264's lope a bit too but it sounds NICE. bwabwabwabwabwabwuuuuuuumbwabwabwabwa

The AEBS header doesn' "suck" on the top end but the Hotshot pulled about 1-2hp more above 7K. It's in the collector design. The AEBS puts a nice FAT 6ft bls or so advantage from 4800-5500rpm. For overall gains it outperformed all the other headers.

I dunno...I'm not really on any side at this time. Just trying to build a budget racer to get me by. I'll be back in something sooner or later.

The TSi is okay...not as "domesticated" as I thought it would be.

Yeah, I'll be there. What Mafiosi are going?

Hey, I FINALLY got a set of B14 wheels for my car, WOHOOOO! They look damn good too, only thing is, with the 195/55/15 RSA's it makes the car look too damn high. I plan on selling the tires and getting 195/50/15 Kumho 712's - that's the ticket.

I'll be going, Craig, I think Jack if his motor is done by then (don't ask I'll tell ya all about it at the track) Ryan might go I think too. (young Marine looking guy who came down with us)

It would be nice to get Matt Niarua with his turbo NX there, and a few of the other guys too.
