Since turbo I've been running Mobil1 10-30. This recent oil change I opt for 15-50 because

1. Houston is getting warmer
2. I drive 80+mph to work daily (houston freeway traffic)
3. EGT stays at 1200F going ~80+mph
4. Turbo is only oil cooled. No water hook up.

I noticed a higher oil pressure according to my gauge. Thicker oil raises pressure, yes; but how high would it be consider unsafe? I've searched and found low pressure = oil starvation. FSM says at 3200rpm should be 46-57psi, but nothing more about higher RPMs. What about a prolong cruise of 4K RPM? My gauge reads ~65 psi. will high pressure have any negative effect on the motor?

stupid question of today: i've read VE owners get 100psi of oil pressure. why is it that the oil stick won't get popped out from that?

I'm running a BB DET with SR16VE N1 oil pump. I make about 110 psi TOPS of oil pressure,.....I have had nothing bad happen yet.

Make about 75 psi cruising at 3500 rpm.
