It's been laying around since I took it apart nearly two months ago. I got
the innards back together tonight but still can't really see where this
goes. It looks similar to one of the three sprung "bits" that fit in the top
gear on the input shaft shaft. I had accidentally pulled off the fork for
that shaft like twice, but had successfully reinserted the "bits." Those
were solid too, whereas this one is hollow. The other forks don't seem to
have any of these pieces.

Hmm... I didn't use Paint to crap the picand not forget to drop the size of the default new picture before saving... of course not...

Uhh, well from the picture (which isn't too clear) they look like the "dogs" (I believe the correct name is shift inserts, but my memory is a but fuzzy). They're part of the synchro assembly. Have fun

Yeah I said it looked like one, but there is only one. Someone on the SE-R list said it looked like a "shift fork cap" or something like that. Since I only have one I think that may be what it is...

Hehehehehe guess its a good thing Ive been gone lately. Or Ben might have been asking me to dig though this FSM of mine.

But isnt it always the case, left over parts
.

Also those are rosey palms....why cause look at that finger....the dreaded band.... boooooo

about the FSM, i found one on ebay for 14bucks! i sent the money and never recieved anything until 4 months later, bye then i forgot abot it,,but im glad i got it cause it was a major help in changing my starter!!

Ok I was just at home looking at the thing and the semicircular forks didn't seem to have anything like this on them. Where exactly does it go?
