I am working on the next gen Hotshot header. It will have the port shape of the VE exhaust port, which also happens to work on the DE.

This header is a radical departure from the current Hotshot design. Its going feature stepped pipe diameter and merged collectors. Its also going to be a 4-1 desgin with a special collector that will still allow it to have decent torque. I got the idea from Nissans IRL motor.

I am first going to test the new desgin on a all bolt on DE, then my 200 hp DE and finaly on my N-1 cam equipped VE powered race car that is currently getting built.

Stay tuned, hopefuly their will be a lower cost mosre powerful alternative to the Fujitsubo.

Sweet! If they build them, I'll buy one. I need a new header. Actually, even if it's technically a "prototype" I'd still get one.

Thanks Mike!

Gotta test first to make sure they are any good.

Yeah, I figured. I'm sure there's probably a few different ideas/changes you'll test before making a final decision. But I'm definitely interested if they decide to produce them.

Thanks!

Mike, did Martin talk to you yet? He has all the info about these guys. http://www.escort-us.com
They are willing to work with you about making parts for our cars. I doesn't have to be headers. They can make their own design but, they want your opinion. They are willing to put their product

Anyway, Martin has all the info. I'm not trying to promote the company nor their products. But, if they can make stuff for our cars the better. :D

Thats excellent news Mike! Thanks again for all the hard work you are putting into new SR20 product developement. If it can be bought in stainless for less then $600 then there are going to be a lot of happy people. I'll have Ray buy you an appletini in May :)

Doing a 3" race model and a 2.5" for those that want to run a cat.

I am going to see him tonight, we can talk then. I am only going to share my most radical ideas with Hotshot though because they have always been willing to encoporate my ideas into their product and they are willing to make several versions for testing with no cost to the comunity or me to optimize the design.

Other companese always want me to front the cost of development.

Sweet. This will make alot of DE people happy who eventually go VE or want to go VE but want something outta the DE in the mean time. That way they ain't gotta sell there DE header for less than half its worth to buy a 600dolla Fujitsubo...

Would the 3" setup still bolt up to a 3" aftermarket cat and 3" exhaust?

P.S I found out today my hotshot header is cracked on the primary section, just like the other guys are complaining about. It's still small, but there's definitely a crack starting... :(

would this work on RWD?

Im building a SR20DE to run in my 74 Z and wanted to see if there was anything decent off the shelf and that sounds good but I wouldn't do to much pipe stepping.

If it doesn't, I'll just go and do a one off equal runner, center exit piece...I'm sorta hoping it does however. Sounds pretty sweet.

My planned mods are:

12:1 compression 2mm overbore
1.5mm metal head gasket
Garage ported head with larger valves/springs/medium-large cams/gasket matched
DET oil squirters
Haltech E11 OR PowerFC
GTi-R throttle bodies, I'm shooting for overall throttle response, flat powerband, and about 210rwhp.
GM 3 bar map if E11
Q45 90mm MAFS if PowerFC

Drysump is also an option i'm considering..

www.musclemotorsports.com has pumps, oil tanks, lines, fittings from NASCAR cars that can be adapted to fit all that would be needed is an oilpan and drilling and tapping..

It'd be a LOT less than the price you pay for a NEW drysump system thats for sure.

sorry to get so long about it..i know i left some mods out.
