Hi,
It's been a while since I have been on this board, my new job doesn't allow as much "surfing" time - go figure.
I have a tire size question. I have a 93 Classic (stock height w/ KYB AGXs). Stock size wheels 14x5.5, 45 mm offset (Volk CE28Ns
).
I am considering a couple of tire sizes in Kumho R Compounds.
195/55/14 (Ecsta V700 or Victoracer V700)
205/55/14 (Victoracer V700)
225/50/14 (Ecsta V700)
First, would a 225/50 fit the wheel? and would it have clearance problems front or back? What about the 205/55/14.
My thoughts are to get the Ecstas in 225/50/14 up front - more meat and more clearance .... When the new compound comes out late July
And Victoracers in 205/55/14 for the rear ... a little narrower in the rear to clear the shock and a little less sticky (narrower and less sticky compoud).
What are your thoughts?
I am hoping this combination will give me maximum contact patch while clearing the shocks/wheel well ....and the stagered sizes/compound will tune out just a little bit of understeer (...currently understeer is not a huge problem).
One more thing, I have the option of using a 5mm spacer per wheel.
Thank you for reading through my long rambling and for any inputs.
