ok so i have been having nothing but issues with my jdm de-t. i just put on both used usdm ect sensors and cannot get car to bleed. i have no heat, no fans and the hose to the thermostat is cold but the one to the head (upper hose) is hot. the car overheats in about 3 minutes of run time everytime. i have had the bleeder by the heater hose, thermostat, front of block and meizere electric h2o pump all pissing coolant. the thermostat is a brandnew stant superstant 170f part# 45967 which is the one it calls for, and it is intalled right w/the bleeder facing up. and yes the electric water pump is working b/c i took a shower from it man, do those really move the coolant hahaha
any help or words of wisdom would be appreciated
thanks

with or without fans the car still should get that hot that fast.
i have been turning them on and off manually by running battery voltage. to them but when they're hooked up the stock way they dont work

you need to flush the coolant system. this requires the turbo to be removed so you can access the plug on the front of the block. drain all coolant and add water until the bleeder and the block drain only have water comming out. then inspect the radiator for damage. also look for corrosion on the radiator. if you see it the radiator needs to be replaced. if the radiator is ok then refill the cooling system with 70% water 20% coolant 10% water wetter. if you are overheating at idle then the radiator may be cloaged.

Are you losing water when the car idles or does it simply overheat? First thing I would check is the water temp sender and make sure you have the right one to corespond to your heat guage. If you say the outlet pipe from the motor is cold that means the thermostat has not even opened yet, Depending on thermostat it will only open @ about 60 - 70'C. It will not in my experience reach that kind of temperature from 3 minutes of idle alone, you have to at least drive around the block to get your temp to reach anything above 70'C.

If your motor overheats you will hear it boiling through your overflow bottle. IMHO I dont think the motor sounds like she is even at operating temperature yet. Dont always trust the factory heat guage by itself.

if the lower (inlet to motor) hose is cold, then we're talkin about having a clog in the radiator or the thermostat isn't working. pull the thermo out. don't even put a new one in. that should stop the problem asap. if that doens't work you need a new rad

ok i think im tracin air now. i removed the new stant superstat 170f thermostat and put it on the stove in h20 and it didnt open till almost 200f. replaced thermostat with new one and now im trying to bleed the system. it will hot water all the way through the thing now except for when it get to the heater hoses. the hose coming throught the firewall is the only one that gets hot the others dont and i still have no heat. i put my fan on a switch and turn it on when the gauge reaches half but the damn thing still gets hot. and i have the car jacked up and have bleeding from the heater hose bleeder and the thermostat bleeder. any ideas. maybe it has a clog. it just doesnt make since. im thing of capping off the heater plugs on the coolant pipes under the intake (which do get hot) and seeing what happens.

so i flushed entire cooling system from the heater core to the radiator didint reallly see any signs of any gunk or anyhting coming out so we'll see what happens after i bleed it out this time

i had thought of that. im sure it is b/c i completely took the whole cooling system apart @ every entry and exit point and have nothing but clear water coming out from every point now including the heater core and nothing seemed restricted.

after flushing the block and running the car for 7 mins of run time the car over heated with the fans on. i have compression tested to engine and it has approx. 174 across the board on all 4 cylinders. this thing has had 3 thermostats in it with all the same results gonna try 2 more temp sensors if that doesnt work im stumped. its getting hot but im killin it b4 it gets to hot. its almost as if when the thermostat opens it runs even hotter or at least thats the way it seems. also gonna go get a rad. cap but im running the spill free funnel and i bleed honda systems everyday at work with it and have no issues. wtf is going on??????????
also i have searcheed for this but couldnt find anything- what is the sensor on the bottom of the lower intake manifold? it has coolant running to and from it.

ok i will try it. i have been fu**ing with this thing all day and i am clueless thats the only thing left. unless its ecu related. i recieved this car with a blown headgasket from civicsrslow. pulled the headoff and the engine was cooked so i put the jdm in it. i wonder if he was having these problems aqs well and neglected to tell me. wouldnt surprise me seeing the way the rest of the deal went.

Have you fully bled the system? If you have air in the system, the water in the coolant will boil because the coolant system pressure doesnt raise. Bleed the system, use the bleeder screw to fill it and get all the air out. start it up, run it, get it
up to opperating temp or about and or until you have a solid coolant flow and keep topping up till full. If you have air on the back side of the thermostat it will not open.

well guys i got the cooling issue down i have to run without a t-stat and it runs beautiful no overheating @ idle wot or cruising. i dont know if im to happy about running w/o a thermostat but i am def. relieved. not exagerating i went thru 9 gallons of coolant, 3 thermostats, 3cts. now i just have to tune it better till i get my jwt ecu. i went through a 1/4 tank of gas in 7 miles and fouled the plugs. that will be tomorrows project. thx to everyone who helped me through this!!!!
