Exacactly, my 50lb 3 bar wouldn't touch it and 50lb 4 bar would be getting up there in duty cycle over 400, or would they make it? gotta have the 72lbers in my opinion over 400hp, or am I being to cautious?

yeah doesn't sound to credible. my friend has a sr20det, (240sx) with a t3/t4, with i think 72/lb injectors, and all the good stuff, but stock internals, (except for tomei cams) and only makes 350 to the wheel at 18/pds. two extra pounds of boost are not gonna net him 400, unless he is talking about to the flywheel. maybe he's close to it then.

I guess I didnt look at the injectors used , I do know that Enjuku has a Bone stock internals S13 SR20DET with a T3/T04E , FMIC , 550cc injectors and there computer program that makes 444 RWHP at 22 lbs .....

Everybody's forgetting this is the ultimate street car challenge. Engine HP alone is not going to win it. You guys havent even mentioned suspension. Before you guys start voting for cars you got to educate yourself first. Here are the cars and categories that were judged last year.

Yeah Enjuku's 240 is bad @ss, but that **** is some high tech ****, like there computer program costes some mad dough, but gives off some mad results. and my friends kinda iffy about boosting too high, that is his only car (street driven, every day). once he boosted it up to 20lbs he heard some crazy knock and almost faced detonation. i think he needs a fuel management computer(aem, haltech etc..). 350 hp=12 sec slips on street tires. that's good enough for him.

Roll-Mod-L is right everything has to be set up right and you gotta have the **** driver (like me lol). you can't just stick in a t3/t4, some tein springs, and a body kit and expect to win, everything has to be tuned accordingly. i think Roll-Mod-L's car should be in it, hey if that weak ass type R made the cut, busting 13 sec time slips, you'll be smoking, plus i'll vote for yours because you have my dream sentra, NICE @SS HELL. :)

I have seen 550's push 424hp but the injector duty was at like 98% not very safe.

Its amazing how a Thread can go into a totally different topic without getting answered. You guys are discussing injector duty cycles, 1/4 mile times and other stuff when the original post states that this guy wants votes for the USSC. He listed his mods so its either you think he has what it takes to enter or you dont. He is just looking for support. I posted a link to Sport Compact Car so you guys can read about the categories in the challenge so you can make an educated choice in this years decision. I dont mean to sound harsh but guys come now, when we reply to a post lets try at least to stick to the subject.

actually, the thread title is "does this sound right...a 400hp NX"

so here goes...

i dont think it does. not whp, which is the only thing that matters. here's why:

first: i dont think that turbo, with an internal gate, will be very happy at 400 hp.

second: 47 lb injectors arent even 550's, the are 493's. that thing wont be happy for fuel up there, especially on stock internals. one ping (which is likely) and he will eat his motor.

third: how does he run 20 psi with the cat? now, i know the cat might flow well enough, but on stock internals, he's gonna need some race gas for 20 psi, and the cat wont last long on that. if he's not using race gas, there's no way those 47 lb'ers will support enough unleaded to keep it from pinging to death at 20 psi, plus that cat would melt in no time. the only way he could run that boost on unleaded would be to run a retarded (pun intended) timing curve, and 400 hp @ 20 psi that wont make.

fourth: correct me if im wrong, but that looks like a 2.5" downpipe, and with an internal gate, once again, that exhaust mingling wont be happy. unhappy exhaust means unhappy power output.

i think he was just spouting off numbers. i highly doubt he actually made these numbers. i really hope that if he does get elected to go, he doesnt end up like last year's 3000GT (high HP claims, near stock performance), which would be embarassing for us as a community. that, or he blows it up, another bad thing for us.

^^^^^^^^I think Hotshotsr20's car would be just as capable as that NX would be, but I don't think a 350-400 FWD car will win that competition though.
you'd be surprised.

Mike and I were talking, and many SoCal guys post faster times with 155whp FWD cars on those tracks, granted, these are SE-R cup cars, but still, they dont have dick for power. Slap a turbo on, say, Naji's car, and the road course is his.

My car has quite a bit in the suspension, its just a tad heavy (2650 with me and 1/2 a tank of gas and my 2 amp system, which is no longer in there) to be competetive for that. i need a cage, some crazier spring rates and about 300 less lbs. i think i could make a killing for the performance parts. the smog part and show part...well....my car is clean with perfect paint and no dents, but i dont think my car will come anywhere close in the smog part, not by a long shot....

I filled out the form for next year's USCC. I thjink my car would do well there, but nobody is going to vote for a car that isnt totally built.
in order to be competetive in a B13 or B14 for the USCC, i would say you would need the following:

300 whp minimum (to not get slaughtered in the 1/4 mile and dyno contest)
High spring rate suspension (550F/500R)
Shocks to match mega springs (Koni 80611s or GC AD's)
Roll cage to control springs
R compound tires
Big radiator, pullies, etc (Koyo or similiar)
Racing seats, perfect paint, clean wiring, Wheels, etc (hey, the show part is important too)
Race Gas

i dont think a bolt SE-R will make it. A high powered VVL might be competetive, but a turbo SE-R would be the way to go.

i would not expect to win but i would not have to worry about breaking down (james chen's MR2, laminar SRX7), or worry about other issues such as gross braking, handling and other teething issues of not well-sorted cars (the yellow type-R comes to mind. A stock type R would have done better)

I would get destroyed in dyno and 1/4 mile, but finish mid-pack in road course, handling, braking, probably win emissions, do well in power delivery, fuel economy, driveability and grandma test. I figure i could pull a top-4.

Remeber the car that wins the 1/4 mile will probably not do well for driveability, fuel mileage, or emissions, where i would do well. Each test is weighted equally so succeding in one test is worth as much as another........

except your suspension, roll cage, cooling, R compound tires.

yeah, it would have trouble hanging with the Skyline, on a larger track.

on the nice, small tracks they usually race on, there isnt much skyline advantage.

plus, most of the SoCal SERCA guys know these tracks like the back of their collective hands (the palms are too hairy :D )
