Well I dont know anything about them, but a logical guess would be that its for a vacuum line...

Could be -- I don't have one yet, and the diagram on Greddy's site has it going to the boost controller. Right now it is just sitting there. A friend suggested it goes to the intake manifold.

 

The top one is used if you have a "electronic" boost controller.

make sure to flip the DIP(****) switch on the back of the boost controller to the external gate setting. otherwise, your gate will never open as long as the controller is plugged in, whether its on or not.

DOH! a whole lotta boost

 

Top port is to run boost back into using a B/C. It lets you run higher boost say you have a 3# spring, your WG would open at 3psi. The port allows you to force the valve closed using boost pressure. Thus you can run higher boost with a lower spring pressure.

yes, only through an electronic boost controller though. if you are going to run a mechanical boost controller with an external gate, i would hook it up between the boost source and the nipple on the side.

dont plug the top nipple into boost lines without an EBC. if you do, the WG will only open under vacuum. this will result in as much boost as your turbo can supply, which is probably somewhere past 30 psi if you have a larger turbo. not good.

That's exactly how mine was setup by the fine folks at J&M Motorsports in Meriden, CT, as I'm wastegate only at the moment w/my T3. I think it's simply how it is supposed to go, but I was under the car checking hoses and such, and thought maybe something popped off. It sounds as if it is supposed to be unused if you don't have an EBC.
