I'm not all that into knowing what the difference is. But I do know that people with G20's will swap in a NX tranny, since it is better. I think we are built more for cruising.

 

I am pretty sure the ratios are different. My dad's '93.5 G20 revs at around 2500 in 5th gear at 60 MPH, and my '93 SE-R revs at around 3000 in 5th gear at 60 MPH. I know when I drive my dad's G20 I'll cruise in 4th gear at around 45-50 MPH cause it revs lower than my SE-R does in that gear at those speeds.

I was reading in C&D of 91' and it has the NX2000 and the G20 in there, and it shows that the gear ratio for 3rd gear is 1.21 for the G20, and its .93 for 4th gear. The NX2000 has 1.29 3rd gear, and .98 for 4th gear. Anyone know if the gears are stronger? Thoughts....anyone?

 

So wouldn't that mean if you put a G20 tranny in an SE-R or NX2000 that it would have a higher top speed? The 3rd gear might also be better...as in not breaking...anyone know why the 3rd gear brakes? Anyone have a G20 FSM that they could look up the gear ratios in and stuff, and how many teeth the gears have on them?
