Throw-out bearing

The old throw out bearing is stuck in the housing and will not come out. I did some searching but I could not find a thread containing pictures of this ever so simple "How to" question. Everyone says that it should just slide out, but no success there. I checked the 240sx Tech site also along with the ka-t.org site. Me and my dad tried to pry it, but it only comes out a little bit then becomes stuck. Do I need a press of some sort to press it out? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Its a s14 chasis and trans, thanks in advance.

I believe you need a press for it.

I don't know exactly how it's done as someone else replaced my TOB for me, for free, as a favor.

if that throw out bearing is any thing like the s13 which i think it is you have to press it out, i used a vise

Good call. I realized after re-reading this how much of an S-chassis philanthropist I am. I could probably use the content from that thread and create 30+ DIY's.

Thanks alot for the quick responce. I actually just got back from my friends garage he pressed it out for me and pressed the new one in. It was just pretty weird that everything I was reading was saying that it should just slide out, I should have known better. And I read Andy's whole thread too, I don't know how I missed that one.
