If I run a VG30DETT piston in an sr20det with a stock combustion chamber, what will this bring my compression ratio up to and is it still safe to boost with 93 octane at that cr? Any help is appreciated.

Well whats engine are you putting these in. After the price of boring your engine and doing all the work to get these to fit your sr20 you could have forged pistons in the motor. Sr20det pistons will drop right in and support the same power as the vg30dett pistons. There is a lot more to a well built motor then better pistons the weakest link in your sr20 is the oil pump and chance of spinning a rod. Save your $ and do it right the first time.

Thanks for the reply, but I already knew all of this. Not trying to be a butt, but I happen to have an SR20DET that has broken ring lands and a small scratch in one of the cylinders. That being said I also have a set of VG30DETT laying around ( I recently sold my Z) pistons, so you can see where I'm going with this. Not trying to skimp, as any pressure cast nissan can hold some abuse IF TUNED CORRECTLY. So if I can use these these pistons and save oh... $500-$600 over forged ones then I will, and I think the money saved can buy a good oil pump. I really nee to find out the pistom volume of a VG30DETT piston and the deck height of an SR20DET and I can figure the SCR on my own, but I can't seem to find this info... yet. Thanks
